RRS was conceived to be the sound membrane of the Museum, a space where listeners can hear curators, art critics, artists and researchers, but also where they can contemplate exhibitions, the Collection and Museum activities with the benefit of extra information.
The name of the project makes reference to its two-fold function. On the one hand, it is a web page, and thus makes use of the new formats, distribution channels and internet participation environments. Yet at the same time, it is a radio station, and thus concentrates on sound, on radiophonic formats, and also on the ubiquitousness of this medium. So, the initials RRS are a play on the initials of syndicated web pages, RSS, but also on the acronyms often used for public radio stations.
