Mecanismo designs the thirty panels and its strict geometry creates a forest through its naturalization and geometric adaptation. The formal naturalization of the panels and their manipulation towards the urban, gives rise to an organic and complex space based, however, on simple geometric norms.
“We have become accustomed to the fact that the natural and the artificial do not coexist. Nature and urban development often face separated by impassable boundaries. However, we believe that the city and the forest are compatible and both share organizational qualities that can make them complementary. ”
Pedro Rica
“The ecosystem that we are going to implant in front of the Church of Saint-Sever de Rouen, taking advantage of the urban void, has the ability to atomize and expand.”

Organized by the Métropole Rouen Normandie and the NFB, La Forêt Monumentale is conceived as an art biennial focused on the integration of art and the forest (due to its great extension in the region) promoting the staging of the surrounding nature. In addition, the character of the exhibition is influenced by the strong commitment of the city of Rouen with the fight against global warming, something that can be observed in the construction of the work that will be done by Roland Cros, which will be made with recycled wood.
The main exhibition will be found along a four-kilometer route in the Green Forest, which will house thirteen works by artists of different nationalities, which will allow visitors to discover the environment while art.
In addition, the collaboration between La Forêt Monumentale and Concéntrico will make the forest integrate into the urban area by the hand of the mechanism. Thus, Forêt will be established outdoors, in front of the Church of Saint-Sever, so that all pedestrians will be able to interact with it (even touring it inside) from September 20, 2019.
