Overcoming pessimistic views of crisis, for the ninth consecutive year, URBAN-TV opens its doors: IX INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION FESTIVAL ON URBAN LIFE AND ECOLOGY. In La Casa Encendida, Madrid (Spain), 14th - 17th November, 2011.

The Festival presents a better understanding of our cities, converted ecosystems created, modified and adapted by their inhabitants over time.

The city, as a reference model in terms of social organization, allows organizers to ask some interesting questions: Does the city help to humanize citizens, or has it the opposite effect? Does it gather all the conditions human beings need to live? Can a artificial environment restrict the opportunities for personal fulfillment we all desire? Does it promote a sustainable social model? Is urban development compatible with nature protection?

Finally, URBAN-TV 2011 includes a new edition of the discussion forum "Transforming television”, bringing together leading experts from academia and television, to discuss the convergence of television and the internet.

Luis Miguel Domínguez and Bienvenido León, festival´s directors. Avatar Wildlife.
