Description of project by Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos

The project consists of a single-family house on ground floor in the town of Oleiros, implanted on the ground, considering the starting term of the plot of land, understanding the site and looking for the best orientation.

The plot of land has an irregular floor and a light slope to its interior, with an access at the East side from the main road. The access from the main road is performed through the link between the home area and the garage, facilitating both wheeled access to the garage and pedestrian access to the interior of the house.

For the building concept the idea was a concrete volume with a zinc coating and wooden elements. With a “U” layout, developed parallel to the access road and to the service road, located on the North and West boundaries of the land, opening towards the interior of the plot of land, looking for the best orientation.

The house consists of only a ground floor, divided in three main areas: the garage, the home and a covered terrace. In the same way, the geometric form and the building layout in the plot of land, contributes the Northwest and Northeast orientation to be closed, gaining privacy, and opening to the South, to the landscape of the plot of land, through a sliding window system.

The area dedicated to the house is located next to the garage, and it is aligned to the road. The volume consists of two different zones: a wooden box, which includes the private spaces such as the main bedroom with its own bathroom and closet, the studio, the main bathroom and an area for laundry, storage space and installation room. On the other hand, de living day consists of a more opened and glazed zone, which includes living room and kitchen.

And finally, the covered terrace area is located next to the house, with the possibility of connecting directly with the kitchen - living room. This space is closed in its Northwest side and opened to the landscape of the plot of land and the exterior swimming pool, benefiting from light and warm.
