Ecumenopolis, COAC audiovisual program in its nineteenth session presents the film The Desert Castle, which is on the restricted competition for a desert city of Ras Al Khaimah.

"I do not believe in learning through experience. Most of these experiences are negative things that you can do, which are not possible". Kjetil Thorsen.

Kjetil Thorsen and his Snohetta study are invited to participate in a restricted competition (with as the only opponent OMA) to create a new capital facility in the desert of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) issued by his highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi following the example of his "sister" greater, Dubai.

The Desert Castle reflected throughout the design process of this unique project, according to the architects in their own office, during site visits, and meetings with the client. "Group Dynamics at its worst and best state" as himself Thorsen concludes.

At the end of the projection Moisés Puente, architect and editor, talk via Skype with Laia Celma and Craig Dykers study Snohetta New York to exchange views on the project and the role of the architect to similar orders. Moritz free, as always.
