All these references to the building's past coexist with current plan layouts. The open kitchens are located in the open-plan living areas and the restroom sinks are integrated into the bedrooms. A slight touch of colour in the houses' fixed furniture brings warmth and opens the door to eclectic and contemporary furniture that contrasts with the more classic elements of its architecture.

Project description by El Equipo Creativo
The Project of the houses and common areas of the building located at Fuenterrabía street # 9 takes as its starting point the characteristics of its location since it is located in one of the most emblematic streets of the Donostiarra expansion, also known as the romantic area of the city for its late-19th-century French-style architecture.
Today converted into a primarily commercial area, its elegant buildings with sumptuous portals formerly housed the most regal homes in the city, rich in details and fine materials.
In the reform carried out in the building, the original façade has been maintained but its interior has been remodelled to contain homes with typologies and surfaces adapted to our times.
The Creative Team seeks to give the renovated building a character in keeping with its location and history, making a nod to its original classicism, emphasizing the use of quality materials such as wood, marble and brass; decorating the spaces with mouldings, wainscoting, and cornices.
The original colourimetry of the common spaces (in this case, the colour green) is recovered as a common thread through the different floors and through the stairs, landings and light wells.
All these references to the building's past coexist with contemporary floor plans in which the open kitchens inhabit the open-plan living areas and the toilets are integrated into the bedrooms like a hotel suite.
A slight touch of colour in the fixed furniture of the houses brings warmth and opens the door to eclectic and contemporary furnishing that contrasts with the more classic elements of its architecture.
