The exhibition features two works by Jesús Chamizo that demonstrate his singular view of urban landscapes. On one hand, Glass Memories reveals architectural fragments, like a screen that transmits an individual image of a succession of memories reflected on every building and on every street of every city. On the other hand, Geometrical explores the geometric figures that form our surroundings and also makes up the physiognomy of our cities. It is a project that teaches us how geometry and architecture join in perfect harmony.
The work of Jesús Chamizo has been increasingly visible in recent years due to exceptional works focused on the architectural landscape, such as the enhancement of the work in Madrid by architect Antonio Palacios, (with exceptional shots of the construction of buildings such as the "Communications Palace / City Hall of Madrid", "Círculo de Bellas Artes", "Cervantes Institute", "Jornadaleros de Maudes Hospital", "Matesanz House / Gran Vía 27", ...), and his presentation at the Chicago Biennial of 2017, or the six IPA 2018 photography awards, won last year.
In this exhibition that is presented at the Kreisler Gallery next Tuesday, Jesús Chamizo (Madrid, 1961), is once again seduced by the architectural spaces and re-interprets, with his particular way of looking, the sensations that these suggest.
