Architects Julio Pérez Domínguez and Daniel Fernández-Carracedo are the authors of this lovely and peaceful house in Morales del Vino, a small town in the Spanish province of Zamora. The fantastic pictures were taken by Miguel de Guzmán, great photographer and regular at METALOCUS.

Description of project by its architects

Did Mies return?

We don't know… that is something the critics must decide. However, we were determined to connect the outside with the inside by means of a curious thermal bridge break system that gives real continuity to the concrete and hides the carpentry.

The house is designed for the use and enjoyment of the plot as a whole, taking the programme to its limits. The plot is a rectangle located at the bottom of a 'cul-de-sac'. The access is on a corner, between the volume of housing and an auxiliary pavilion. The flight of slab of the pavilion protects the entrance.

Inside, the house is divided into a living area and a sleeping area. The living area is a glazed porch, where light comes in, creating a changing relationship between outside and inside. The sleeping area guarantees the necessary privacy.
