Many times the small buildings are the largest. No need to design a big building for doing good architecture, and in fact with a very little budget it is possible to do great things. This fantastic TASCHEN book englobes examples of 'Small Architecture' in which architects are faced with small situations resolving them brilliantly. An interesting reflection in times of crisis in which it has been shown that large buildings are no longer necessary.

Many of the most famous architects have had the opportunity to make small buildings. However, its condition of 'Small architecture' does not exempt to be well built and designed from the most ambitious ideas. All these projects must be understood as an opportunity for innovation, showing talent and ambition in a small scale.

In this publication we can find projects from people like the world renowned Toyo Ito and Alvaro Siza, architects Kazuyo Sejima and others from Portugal, Chile, England and New Zealand. A dollhouse for Calvin Klein in New York, a playhouse in Trondheim, pop-up stores for fashion stars, vacation cabins, housing for victims of natural disasters...

One more time, TASCHEN gives us a slight publication, with excellent images and texts that complement them. Interesting, on par with necessary reflection on how a small scale do great architecture.
