BLOOP Festival, el primer festival del mundo de arte proactivo... en Ibiza.

BLOOP Festival, the avant-garde art project by BIOKIP, where artists, artworks and audience, all three play a role to complete the art. Organised under the objective to induce proactivity among the people to think and reflect on a social theme. BLOOP is a multi disciplinary festival packed with exhibitions, photo expositions, interactive installations, murals, paintings, concerts, children’s workshops and many more, from 14th July to 18th August completely for free and open to any public.

Now on its 3rd edition, at BLOOP Festival, art is an important form of communication where the message must be clearly conveyed to anybody. Every year the festival constructs the aesthetic around a theme related closely to our daily lives and to further appreciate everything that the island of Ibiza has to offer outside of its world renowned clubs and nightlife.

This year the theme is CONTROL and BLOOP artists will interpret and express this concept in their own languages and techniques across the month long exhibition, inviting us to think and reflect on how control affects us all. Particularly relevant considering the recent news that North America has started to gather data from social networks and communication services for submission to the State.

Far de ses Coves Blanques, the old lighthouse where BLOOP headquarters is located cradles the interpretations of the theme control by artists such as Pineapple Crocodile, Emilio Cejalvo, Silva Ramacci, Lo Spino, Tom Gallant, Montse Nadal, Xavi`s Lab and Massimo Mazzone.

Embodying the nature of the festival's ethos that art is for everybody, the Open Air Gallery is BLOOP`s long term project and recently it welcomed the first addition to the collection this year: a gigantic mural by PHLEGM. The emerging talent of graffiti wall painting invades a 6 storey high building in Sant Antoni where the BLOOP Festival headquarters is located, astonishing any passer-by from toddlers, clubbers and to retired couples.

The Open Air Gallery collection is sprinkled across the island, all accessible under the blue skies of Ibiza.

From the zero edition of the festival, BLOOP has held workshops for children dubbed BLOOP KIDS as they carry the future on their little shoulders. This year the little ones composed a mural, stop motion video and sound track just like the big people, taking a 360°approach to art.

Music, an essential component of BLOOP, takes its next step. The sound designer and producer of the entire festival Digital Genetic Pasta brings an interactive audio installation to Molí d`en Simó, converting people into maestros and play music according to their movements.

The BLOOP headquarters changes its face into an Open Air Lounge called BLOOP `N` Sunsets with the music of renowned organisations from the white isle We Love…, Data Transmission, Biokip Records and more. Catching the aural attention of many people strolling down the seaside walk to catch a glimpse of the sunset.

BLOOP `N` Sunsets sails away to Hippy Market in Es Canar and KUMHARAS, all over the island, spreading the spirit of the festival. Last but not least, on the 11th of August, BLOOP splashes avant-garde art in the English party We Love…Space for the club`s 24th birthday.

The 36days of fiesta reaches the pre-gran finale on the 17th August at the pre-Closing party at Sa Punta d`es Molí, a magical outdoor amphitheatre by a windmill where you can contemplate the Ibiza`s jewel, the sunset with the aural backdrop of various DJs and more.
