In addition to architectural photography, Adrià Goula, one of the photographers of reference of our country, does personal works, as the Monocroms series, shown below as part of the opening of 'The Architecture Gallery'.
"Show photo as a new independent and self-sufficient object, and not just as a window into another reality. I am interested to look not appealing image, but is retained in the photograph itself, in the photographic print itself. Out of perspective, or perhaps better window, do not enter any space, in any other reality. In this time when we are constantly running away from our everyday life, television, film, resvistas, internet, constantly featuring images that absorb us and lead us to other worlds. This proposal aims at confronting the viewer with an image that allows you to escape and let you indulge in the beauty of the real, imperfect.
The Monocroms project is, in a way, image and metaphor of this. This series began with the meeting, in a journey through the United States, these buildings with doors and windows boarded up. All painted one color to mask removal openings. We see nothing in them , they have no depth , everything is on the surface. In these pictures it seems that we can enter the photo window, but slows us down and impermeability of the frontal image. Stuck in a narrow space between our world and a space -window becomes impenetrable. The photographic representation itself is a metaphor for what is happening to us, windows and doors are tapidadas. No communication between inside and outside. You can not enter. As scenes of Roman theaters, which were built without architectural background, here the city has become a mere decoration. But there is no space object. Only traces remain of this confinement. There is no transparency, we have to recreate the picture itself, the formal characteristics of the image and the object described: graphic aspects, geometries, textures, colors, details, relationships between parts and the whole, series, singularities... These are images that suggest an open window, but finally closed again; images that look vibrates between the figurative and the abstract "
