The Government distinguishes 33 cultural personalities and entities with the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts 2022.

Francisco Mangado Beloqui (Patxi) vs Patxi Mangado (Estella, Navarra 1957) is an architect with extensive work. In his buildings, utility and functionality prevail. His great works are the Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio de Navarra, better known as Baluarte; the Museum of Archeology in Vitoria, which earned him several awards, including the Copper Award for Architecture in 2009 (from the European Copper Institute); the Teulada Municipal Auditorium in 2011 in Alicante, a revolutionary building that combines windows to maintain views of the sea and protection from the sun to prevent the building from overheating; and the Palacio de Congresos de Palma de Mallorca, with which he won the National Architecture Award in 2017; without forgetting the Spanish Pavilion for the Zaragoza Expo in 2008, in which he embodies his architecture and his style, being his most awarded work to date.
