A journey in which the author analyzes issues like space and form using his drawings and a simple and accessible language. "Alt cómic book. Una aproximación a la arquitectura" begins its presentation as follows

"Those who know a little about ALT architecture place us as a media phenomenon with an astonishing mass of people following our work on Facebook. In fact, we are the most followed architecture office in the world, with nearly one million followers in early 2013 ... "

In his presentation Ángel Luis Tendero, supported in this amazing media success, intends to think of the current mismatch between society and architecture making a didactic presentation of ideas that all architects handled at some point, in an attempt to transmit them in an arguably simple way, and relying on a massive clear connection method such as comics.

"Here is where the drawing comes up as a basic tool to attract attention .... / ... We wanted to tell our vision of architecture and use the drawing as a way. Texts mixed with pictures ... a comic."

Angel Luis Tendero presents the first volume as an approach to topics that analyzes space and form in ways that are accessible to everyone, in order to, through this exhibition, make the Architecture better understood. The comic avoids to introduce a debate about contemporary architecture, but takes as example one of the most contemporary cities, New York, and aims to create an awareness of the built environment through the landscape referents, their own dreams, references to movies and classic comics.

Archigram came up in the 1960s, with a similar statement, they wanted to tell their architecture vision in which there was no space in "serious" speeches of the "academy". Its media success was also remarkable, it was that important that their theoretical projects (City walking, moving City, Arcadia...) presented, have transcended more than their later works. Its release was clearly in a period different from the present, the Pop and the Happy 60s spoke of a culture with an economy without problems, a clear difference to the release of this work by Angel, and surely this is a clear difference has influenced the theme, the script and graphic art.

With a flawless graphic presentation and intuitive routes through the more known visual imaginary, his journey not stops being a manifesto of personal architecture. Maybe the script is what generates more doubts or arouse more discussion, depending on the position, knowledge or approach to architecture that each reader has, but no one can deny a brilliant presentation along the line with other architectural presentations proposed through comics, as the 9 volumes of the English Archigram group in the 1960s. 400 drawings, 2000 hours, half a year of hard work and from page 67, the making of!!

Congratulations, good work, Angel!!
