The pavilion was designed by Miguel Arraiz, architect and project director of València World Design Capital 2022, together with the firm Arqueha Arquitectura y Urbanismo, responsible for technical development with the advice of the interior design firm Cosín Estudio.
Àgora València consists of a structure with floor plan dimensions of 24 by 10 meters and a height of 9 meters. The pavilion will have an envelope of ceramic pieces placed perpendicularly on the façade to filter the light as the hours go by, developed by the companies Inalco and Wandegar.
Light has been treated in the project as one more construction material, an idea that will be completed with the upper cover made by Manolo Garcia (master carpentry and Fallas artist), a large piece of brace that will cover the pavilion. This element will simulate the waves of the Mediterranean Sea in reference to the city as a historical point of union between different cultures.
At dusk, an artistic and immersive lighting installation created by the Radiante creative studio will turn the pavilion into a great lighthouse as a symbol of the pride of the entire city of Valencia for being the World Design Capital.
