This itinerary organized by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum covers the evolution of architecture and its social function. The museum's collections become a reflection of the highest artistic expression and, consequently, of the thought, the lifestyles of different times and the idea of citizenship.

After a couple of weeks full with activities related with architecture, in particular with that of Madrid, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum joins this movement offering on the 16th and 17th of October a guided tour through its art collection to see architecture and its consequences from a different point of view, with another look. The pity is that it will be only for two days and just for an exclusive group of 25 people each day, the rest of us will have to wait.

Architecture has been a subject frequently treated by artists over time, either as a history scenario or the absolute protagonist of the play. This has allowed us to meet its development as a genre - it's in the 18th century when it reaches its great appreciation - and witness the changes in this art, aimed towards development and design of buildings that exceed the merely functional.

Furthermore, the architecture understood as part of a whole, as an integral agent of urban space has taken shape, over the centuries, the idea of the city and therefore of citizenship, it is an ideological demonstration and a reflection of the cultural evolution of mankind.
