The latest in a string of dance films by Japanese composer and pianist, Koki Nakano, (repeatedly published in METALOCUS) again explores the human relationship with water in an exclusive dance film, directed by Benjamin Seroussi and choreographed by Damien Jalet with dancer Aimilios Arapoglou.

Koki Nakano reveals the last music video, Oceanic Feeling, released on Nø Førmat, shot on location at Paris water park, Aquaboulevard.
The filming features a deeply set of sequences performed by Greek dancer Aimilios Arapoglou, reflecting Nakano’s fascination with the world of dance, evoking a variety of layers to think about the water, considering its presence as a metaphorical boundary

“We worked together to recreate this ambivalent feeling we got from performing in the bay of Ishinomaki – one of the areas most devastated by the 2011 tsunami; the ambivalence of water as a simultaneously devastating and repairing force. Here is a dancing portrait of a man on a liminal edge, on the fluid and mirroring frontier of an overwhelming element that evokes both death and rebirth.”
Said this through the choreography, Jalet.
