Okuda

Okuda San Miguel. Born in Santander in 1980, Okuda San Miguel currently resides in Madrid. Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, his unique iconographic language of multicolored geometries and patterns has made him one of the most recognized artists in the world. In his work, geometric architectures are mixed with organic forms, bodies without identity, animals without heads and symbols that encourage reflection through artistic pieces that could be classified as Surrealism Pop, but with a clear essence of the streets. His works often raise questions about existentialism, the universe, the infinite, the meaning of life and the contradictions of false freedom, showing a conflict between modernity and our roots. Ultimately, between man and himself.

Parallel to his outdoor work, in 2009 Okuda started his own studio practice, exhibiting later in galleries in India, Mali, Mozambique, the United States, Japan, Chile, Brazil, Peru, South Africa, Mexico and almost the entire continent. European. Among his most famous projects, we find the conversion he made at the end of 2015 of an abandoned Asturian church (Kaos Temple), now a new icon of contemporary art, or the rehabilitation of a castle in the Loire Valley (France) with its characteristic chromatic range.
