Susan Bright, guest curator, proposes a programme of five exhibitions under the title Déjà vu? which brings together Elina Brotherus, Clare Strand, Laura Letinsky, Sharon Core, Patrick Pound, and Délio Jasse in proposals that take the traditions and ideas of the past to create new and contextualised work today.
Along with this proposal, the festival's official section will include a look at collecting from the Lafuente Archive and the collection for love at l´art. Bombas Gens; visits from international masters of photography such as William Klein, Berenice Abbott and Donna Ferrato; proposals from visual artists such as Kimsooja or Dario Villalba; and proposals from Spanish photographers such as Javier Vallhonrat, Paula Anta or Eduardo Nave.
The Royal Botanical Gardens, one of the main venues of the festival, will host the official opening of the festival on 5 June with exhibitions of Javier Vallhonrat's La sombra incisa (The Incise Shadow) and a group exhibition that brings together the works of the winners and finalists of the Fundación ENAIRE 2019 Photography Prize.
