Jessica Pratt is a folk artist recognizable for her elliptical lyrics, guitar, and voice. Here in the Pitch marks the physical release of his fourth album, which includes a quote from Leonard Cohen, taken from a 1975 Crawdaddy interview that explains Pratt's way of composing: “The point is that you feel like singing, and this is the song you know.”

A set of nine pieces allows us to delight in her music for half an hour. As a novelty, her new songs include some light touches of drums and synthesizers, some bass lines and bongos in the background, and accompaniments that do not lose the closeness of her music.
All the songs on this album are absolutely recommended, in which Pratt sings using more verses than choruses, showing her velvety voice that catches you and invades the space in which you listen to her, making time stop for a few minutes. Among the nine songs we highlight "The Last Year", a work about time in a loop and everyday life, those things you find simply by looking in your pockets.

By the way, the urban context and the photography of the video reminded me of the brilliant work of a good friend and excellent photographer Reto Halme.

Lyrics.-
Out of luck, and out of time
It's true the last year ought've plagued my mind
To be the actor to play the part it's come to this
Cause I'm exactly what you said
And better off than dead
Can't get me out of my own bed
You'd wonder if ever there's been hope for me

I think it's gunna be fine
I think we're gunna be together
And the storyline goes forever
And the distances I can see
It's you and me
I'm gone with all the changes in my mind

Out of luck, and out of time
And wouldn't you say the past's no longer quite
As near as you'd like, and it's gunna hurt you now
Cause I'm exactly what you said
The tears've all been shed
Can't watch the headlights from my bed
The chapter's at end, and I'll be holdin' tight
I think it's gunna be fine
I think we're gunna be together
And the storyline goes forever
And the distances I can see
It's you and me
I'm gone with all the changes in my mind
