Ortega
Ortega lives and works in Mexico City and Berlin. He began his career as a cartoonist for a newspaper, and after having collaborated with Gabriel Orozco in the 80s, he channeled his path to the visual arts. Simultaneously he has developed an important publishing work as co-editor and contributor to the magazine Casper Magazine between 1998 and 1999 and as editor of Alias project, which spreads the work and thought of significant contemporary artists that have not been published in Spanish. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions in art centers and museums around the world, as the Hangar Bicocca in Milan (2015), the Jumex Museum in Mexico City (2014), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles ( 2005), the Tate Modern in London (2005), the Kunsthalle Basel (2004) or the ICA in Philadelphia (2002). Also his work has been presented at the 50th Venice Biennale (2003) and the 27th Bienal de São Paulo (2006).
