Following on the resounding success of the Nouvelle Architecture Chinoise edition in 2010, the Young Arab Architects in 2012 and Young Architects in Africa in 2014, Architecture-Studio has organized a competition this year for Young Architects in Latin America as a vehicle for highlighting the creativity of architecture in Latin America and to guide the up and coming generation of architects in their efforts to gain international recognition.
For this occasion, the CA’ASI is opening its doors to young architects with a singular view on the theme of Freespace for the 2018 edition.
The international jury met on Friday 6 April to study 201 projects submitted by participants originating from 18 Latin American countries. The jury focused in particular on their social, environmental and participative approach to the projects, exemplary work revealing the Latin American way of thinking.
CANDIDATE AWARDS
Griselda Balian (BAAG), Agustín Berzero, Sebastian Calero Larrea (Panamerica Sur), Abraham Cota Paredes (COTAPAREDES Arquitectos), Tadea Casilda de Ipiña Mariscal (Ipiña + Nieto), Daniel Feldman (ZITA), Federico Ferrer Deheza (Alarcia-Ferrer Arquitectos), Tomás García de la Huerta (García de la Huerta Gleixner arquitectos), Ignacio Garcia Partarrieu (UMWELT), Federico Lagomarsino, Loreto Lyon (Beals Lyon Arquitectos), Francisco Javier Rivas (Estudio Ahgatuba), Nicolas Rivera (Jochamowitz + Rivera arquitectos), Felipe Sepulveda (BASE), Alejandro Soffia (Alejandro Soffia Arquitectos), Camila Tariki (Bernardes Architecture), Alejandro Yave Vallejo Rivas (Entre nos Atelier) and Gabriel Visconti (Aparatos Contingentes).
