This house, designed by Felipe Assadi Arquitectos, is based on the use of modules of 3,5x6 meters made of iron and wood so that in the future the house could be expanded by adding new units.

Felipe Assadi Arquitectos proposes a modular prototype house that can be transported and constructed easily and fast. It includes a main room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a cellar in 80 square meters. Although in this case the house is located in front of the sea, it is designed to be carried and assembled anywhere, and its modular configuration offers the possibility of extending the house by adding different units.

Description of the project by Felipe Assadi Arquitectos

This project is the prototype of a transportable modular housing. It is a house of 80 sqm that was fully implemented in the city in 45 days, it was moved in 4 hours and it was installed in 6.

In four identical modules of 3.5 x 6 meters three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cellar with washing machine and a central living space, with dining room and kitchen integrated are distributed.

In the final project the customer would be able to set up his own home on the basis of different alternatives of modules via web, in a system that allows connections between the modules with instructions only to add now, or in the future, the enclosures that may be required.

The chassis is made of iron and is working with pine wood in both exterior and interior, walls, floor and sky.

Felipe Assadi is architect from Finis Terrae University 1996, and Master of Architecture from Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile. In 1999 he received the 'Premio Promoción Joven' of the Association of Architects of Chile, awarded to the best architect under 35 of the country.

He has taught at several Chilean universities and other foreigners in Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Colombia and USA. From 2011 he serves as Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Finis Terrae University.

He has been invited to lecture in Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Argentina, USA, Italy and Spain. His work has been widely published in several countries in magazines like Wallpaper and Architectural Review in London, Arquitectura Viva and AV Monografías in Madrid, Architectural Record in NY, GA Tokyo, Domus and Casabella in Italy among others and in specialized books around the world.

He has participated in exhibitions in Barcelona, ​​Pamplona, ​​London, Quito, Tokyo and Santiago. His work has been developed in Chile, Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, United States, Ecuador and Colombia.

Nowadays he has four monographs, in Chile, Spain, Korea and Argentina.
