Of course, there will always be those who look only technique, who ask 'how', while others of a more curious nature will ask 'why'. Personally, I have always preferred inspiration to information...."
Man Ray
Man Ray, recognized as one of the greatest photographers, has a prominent place in the history of twentieth century art. Some of his photographs have become iconic and inescapable. Visionary, he was one of the first to use photography as a means not just to play, but as a true means of creating itself.
His artistic aspirations led him to explore photographic techniques, both in making the image as in the laboratory. But his work is not devoted exclusively to photography, is also a painter, cartoonist, filmmaker, creator of objects, poet. The exhibition which opens today, Man Ray "Views of the spirit" is a retrospective of the creative process the artist used his own vision to link the object created by the use of multiple technical resources.
This unique exhibition is curated by Pierre-Yves Butzbach (France, 1955) and Horacio Basilicus (Italy, 1963). The exhibition presents a new path through the multifaceted work of Emmanuel Radnitsky (Man Ray), visionary photography as art, member of the Paris Dada group and then the group led by André Breton, the Surrealists.
