The architects Diego Cambefort and Diana Bernal have been in charge of designing and constructing this project for Canopy Camp Darien, a space from which to sight and recreate with the birds.
A group formed by eight cabins raised a few meters above ground allow to the users to see the birds in their most natural environment. The Canopy Camp Darién proposal by Diego Cambefort + Diana Bernal stands out for the care when posing the buildings on the ground.
 

Description of the project by Diego Cambefort + Diana Bernal

The project is located in the Darien province within a private nature reserve, created by the clients specially for the sighting of birds, the realization of this project and the conservation of the environment surrounding the camp.

The project consists of a tourist eco-lodge destined to the market of bird sighting

The main characteristics required for the project were to minimize the impact on the site as much as possible and the use of ecological design methodologies.

The eco-lodge will have a service area dedicated to the facilities of the workers and guides of the lodge, as well as to the service facilities of the lodge (small laundry, deposits, among others).

The guest areas are composed of 8 cabins installed on wooden decks suspended on the ground, each one have its Bbathroom by deck / cabin.

The project also has a central area to support the guests and operation of the lodge. The area is divided into two parts separated from each other by the entrance or lobby of the project. One part is destined to the kitchen, dining room, administrative office with reception and a small bathroom, while the other one is destined to host the library and a rest and reading area for guests.

The project has outdoor recreation areas as well as birdwatching trails.

Diego Cambefort was born in Panama City on February 28, 1981. He studied at the University of Panama and received his Bachelor's degree in Architecture in the year 2005. He works in the architecture studio Cambefort and Boza S.A. since the year 2003 where he began as an assistant architect. He currently works as an architect and coordinator of construction projects. In 2009, he received a grand prize (the work of the year) by the project "green house", where he received a prize as part of the work team of Cambefort and Boza as architect designer of the work. In 2006 he won the competition; together with the architect Pablo Cambefort, for the design of a new entrance for the Summit park; a contest promoted by the city of Panama. In addition, he works independently as architects and he has carried out all kinds of projects, from furniture to residential projects, commercial projects, instutional projects, among others.
