Creative Coder
London. United Kingdom.
The work will form a new component of the documentary film project 94 Elements.
We want to create a playful and beautiful work of interactive data visualisation as a way of exploring our living relationships with our natural resources, calling on both live and statistical datasets. We see this as a fantastic opportunity to experiment and to create something really unique, and we’re looking for a special and ambitious team to work with. We can matchmake coders with designers if necessary – the core skills we’re looking for are:
• A creative coder with flair and imagination and the ability to implement elegant and imaginative solutions. We’re likely working in Javascript and a familiarity with 3js and WebGL would be helpful but not essential. Experience of working with live data streams might be good.
• Outstanding data visualisation design skills. The ability to think outside the box to visually represent data in a innovative and imaginative ways.
• A willingness to experiment and explore!
The work is part of the REACT Future Documentary sandbox initiative – http://www.react-hub.org.uk/future-doc-sandbox/ – and will take place over a 3 month period beginning in September with monthly workshops with like-minded experimenters. The fee for the work is a grant of £10,000.
