This year Cino Zucchi is the Chair of the Jury of the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2015. Cino Zucchi graduated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and at the Politecnico di Milano where he is currently Chair Professor of Architectural and Urban Design. He has been teaching architecture in many international seminars and has been visiting professor at the Syracuse University in Florence and at the ETH in Zürich.
The lecture accompanies the opening of the exhibition '420 Nominees' having, through pictures and drawings, the 420 works nominated for the Prize for Contemporary Architecture of the European Union - Mies van der Rohe Award 2015. The exhibition is open to the public at ETSAB, School of Architecture of Barcelona, from February 2 to March 19, 2015.
He participated to the organisation and exposition of several Triennale of Milano and his work has been shown in several editions of the Biennale in Venice. The works of his studio have been selected for or awarded prizes in the “Premio nazionale di architettura Luigi Cosenza,” “Piranesi Award” 2001, “Medaglia d’oro all’architettura italiana” 1995-2003, 2004-2006 and 2009, “Brick Award” 2004, “Comune di Venezia Architecture Award” 2005, ECOLA Award” 2008, “International Award Architecture in Stone” 2009, “InArch/Ance Award” 2011 and the “US Award” 2011. He has been the curator of the Italian Pavilion at the 2014 Biennale di Venezia.
