This multidisciplinary installation by Haro (Valencia, 1958) provides a symbolic journey through the series of large pieces - painting, sculpture, audio and audio-visual space - occupying the Tabacalera’s main hall. An artist with a wealth of experience as a scenographer and art director, Haro intervenes in the Tabacalera’s complex space with a hybrid installation of a scenographic nature in which different artistic disciplines independently suggest an emotional dialogue.
In "Ángel Haro. The Truce", the artist has worked on each of his pieces separately but integrated them into a global discourse, playing with the tension between space, matter, and light. Haro alludes to the pause, the uncertainty of awaiting a latent conflict, from which we can discern neither beginning nor end.
Overture, a fragmented work but one that is interrelated conceptually, is the powerful piece that will greet visitors on entry and through which Haro foreshadows the multiple, complex sense of the rest of the exhibition.
It will be these visitors who, as they explore the labyrinth of rooms, evoke their own stories.
"Ángel Haro. The Truce", curated by Julieta de Haro, is organized by the Sub-Directorate General for the Promotion of the Fine Arts, which is attached to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
