The Czech architecture studio SIAL Architects and Engineers has developed a residential villa in the geographical region known as the Czech Bohemian Paradise, specifically in the town of Vlastibořice, belonging to the Liberec district.

The house has a unique location since from all the rooms you can see impressive views of the vegetation of the Bohemian Paradise landscape, which generates constant relationships between the interior of the house and the wonderful natural landscape that surrounds it.
The house is made up of two different floors and adapts to the topography in a unique way, since the ground floor sinks into the ground, allowing the house to subtly fit the slope of the plot. The decisions made by the SIAL Architects and Engineers studio when distributing the rooms of the house are clear and concise, locating the main living spaces of the house on the ground floor and quieter areas such as the office or bedrooms on the second floor. of guests.

Among the main materials used in the house, the rough and gray masonry used in the perimeter and retaining walls of the exterior of the house stands out, this is due to the client's desire to create simple spaces with the maximum use of natural materials. Also on the exterior of the villa two things stand out, the landscaping treatment that is given to the garden and the way the slope of the plot is resolved through a series of terraces created using a system of retaining walls that respect and adapt to the terrain naturally.

Description of project by SIAL Architects and Engineers

The beautiful plot slopes to the southwest and is part of a slightly undulating landscape on the edge of the Bohemian Paradise. From every place it offers amazing views of the greenery of the opposite side. Because the plot lies outside the built-up area, offering a unique opportunity to realize a solitary villa with an extraordinary interconnection of interior and exterior space. The client's wish was to create simple, clean spaces with maximum use of natural materials.

The realized house has two floors. In the upper part, there are guest rooms with separate entrances and studies. The lower floor is partially sunk into the slope and contains the main living space, which is followed by a garage and an indoor pool. The main building material of the house is stone. In the exterior, it predominates in the form of rough, gray masonry of perimeter walls and retaining walls. In the interior and adjoining exterior parts of the house in the form of tiles made of large-format boards.

An important part of the house is the garden, which is designed as a landscape park and consists of several parts. The entrance parterre of the upper floor, including the green roof, has a more formal character. From the south, the house is connected to an orchard with a meadow. The most sloping part of the garden is solved by a system of irregular, retaining walls and residential terraces, which freely pass into the landscape. The newly planted greenery fully respects the original surrounding species.
