Philip Urspurng was born in Baltimore (MD, USA) in 1963, and studied Art History, History and German Literature in Geneva, Vienna and Berlin. He is currently Head of the History of Art and Architecture at ETH Zürich, and visiting professor of IE Master in Architectural Design for year 2013-2014. He is also member of the Zentrum Geschichte des Wissens, a competence center founded in 2005 by ETH Zürich and Universität Zürich.
