SMAQ. Sabine Müller/Andreas Quednau is a Berlin-based studio founded in 2001, dedicated to architecture, urbanism, and research focusing on urban design and architecture as a (re)active practice of “something that cannot be realized without the help of its environment.” SMAQ has received, among other awards, the prestigious AR Award and the Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction. Sabine Müller is an Assistant Architecture and Urban Design professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. Andreas Quednau is an Architecture and Urban Design professor at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, Germany.
