Rodríguez
Guillermo Rodríguez. Madrid, 1981. His wandering life has always been full of searching and has always been marked by a strong need to take a refuge in the Nature on one hand, and by an attraction towards the chaos of urban spaces. These are the two principle factors which have molded his perception of the world and his photography.
After leaving Madrid Professional School of Photography (EFTI) he carries on collecting experience with Jose Latova and Rafael Roa in Madrid and with Tomas Casademunt in Mexico. His visual background keeps growing as he works in the press as a stable collaborator of Madrid newspaper El Economista and Lanzarote magazine Masscultura. When working in the team of the ASF studio he gets to deepen his skills in the technical part of photography.
In his own work and publications on different cultural themes, the Nature, the human being and the traces in the faces, bodies and objects become the primer axes of his inspiration. He takes part in various exhibitions: Espejos de la imagen, una Historia del Retrato en España 19002000. Festival Explora Foto in Salamanca. Tarazona Foto 2004, where he exhibits his work done in Candeal. Estupor y temblores, 10 fotógrafos traducen a Amélie Nothomb in León. Yusur Puentes. Paisaje y arquitectura en Marruecos y España (published by MEDOCC).
His visit to film industry gets his photo closer to the cinematographic perspective. He works as a stills photographer in films: Soldados de Solamina and Bienvenido a casa (David Trueba), Bajo las estrellas (Félix Viscarret), The queen of Spain and El milagro de Candeal (Fernardo Trueba), Todas las canciones hablan de mi (Jonás Trueba). Short films: Segundo aniversario (Álvaro Brechner), Cero en conciencia (Jonás Trueba). Documentaries: El Museo Nacional del Prado de Madrid and Museo Arqueológico de Alcalá de Henares.
Some of the his work was used for music records: Lagrimas Negras (Bebo Valdés and El Cigala), Carlito Marron (Carlinhos Brown, special edition), Bebo (Bebo Valdés), Juntos para siempre (Bebo y Chucho Valdés).
He takes photos for books: El Milagro de Candeal (published by Grijalbo), Monasterios de España (published by Random House Mondadori). Vallecas. Historia de un lugar y Vallecas. Creación compartida (published by CSIC and the town hall of Madrid).
His photographs feature guides: Arquitectura de Madrid (published by COAM) and El Viajero (published by El País Aguilar). He has pictures published in significant newspapers and magazines such as: El País Semanal, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Cinemanía, Fotogramas, Letra Internacional, Europa, El Mundo, El Dominical, La Opinión de La Coruña, Oficio y Arte, Nu2 y Club Cultura.
