Moriyama
Akane Moriyama (born 1983/Japan) is a designer/artist based in Stockholm. With her background of studying both architecture at Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan and textile design at Konstfack University Collage of Arts, Crafts and Design in Sweden, Moriyama has been working with textile for architecture and art projects. Since her first commission by architect Hideyuki Nakayama “A Curtain for “House O” in 2009, Moriyama has been creating textile for architecture projects in collaboration with various international architects. Also she has commissioned by museums and galleries such as Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen, Gallery Another Space, and Palazzo Bembo as a part of Architecture Venice Biennale 2014. Recently she has completed a large-scale art installation Cubic Prism at courtyard of Goldsmith hall in University of Texas at Austin as a winner of CURTAINS competition organized at Center for American Architecture and Design. She has been teaching as a guest teacher in School of Architecture at Lund University since 2011 as well as made lectures in different universities such as The Swedish School of Textiles /University of Borås and Kyoto Institute of University.
