Joyner Architect

Louis Joyner Architect LLC is an architecture firm based in Columbus, Indiana, offering full-service architecture for commercial, residential, institutional, and historic preservation projects. Founded in 2000, the company draws on many years of experience with a wide range of architectural projects. At the core of its work is a deep sense that the role of an architect is to understand, manage, and balance the competing forces that affect an architectural project. They believe that design best serves the client when they use its aesthetic sense to reflect the client's values and functional goals, and allow it to be tempered by the realistic constraints of practical and financial considerations. They strive to understand their clients and their needs, using their care and experience to provide buildings that are pleasing, solid, and memorable.

Louis Joyner AIA. Principal Louis holds a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and a Bachelor of Arts from New College of Florida. He is a member of the AIA, a registered interior designer, and has been determined to meet the "Professional Qualification Standards" by the Indiana State Historic Preservation Officer.

In addition to practice, Louis has taught in the J.Irwin Miller Architecture Program of Indiana University, in the IU Interiors program, and been a guest critic at several schools of architecture. His community work includes service as Chair of Indiana Modern, facility advisor to North Christian Church, Columbus Visitor’s Center Advisory Board, board member of the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives, and others.
