Isaurralde Raitzin
Ramiro Isaurralde is an Argentine architect who graduated from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) and has a master's degree in Advanced Architecture and City Project from the University of Alcalá (UAH).
Since 2019 he has been working as an architect for the NGO Emergency Architecture & Human Rights (EAHR) with projects aimed at strengthening the resilience of vulnerable groups that suffer inequality and humanitarian crises through architecture in different parts of the world (Jordan, Lebanon, Nepal, among others).
Since 2020 he has also been working as a consultant for WHO, within the Téchne network, which emerged in response to the health crisis of COVID-19, designing severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) treatment facilities, also in a great diversity of countries and contexts (Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mauritius, São Tomé and Príncipe, among many others).
During his training, he also focused his studies on educational architecture integrated to cities and communities, with a focus on innovative learning spaces in vulnerable urban and rural areas. This training was complemented by his participation in numerous research projects, through which he has been able to share results in numerous publications and conferences, with recognitions and exhibited at events such as the Young Researchers Conference of the Montevideo Group University Association (AUGM). His graduation thesis was oriented precisely towards this theme and was awarded in different congresses and competitions on a local and international scale.
His interest in education also extends to the practice of teaching, an activity that he was able to carry out in the subjects Workshop of Architectural Design II and V of the Architecture and Urbanism career of the UNL from 2015 to 2018.
Isaurralde has been the recipient of different scholarships that have allowed him to internationalize his experience, such as the PROINMES program that allowed him to study at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Toulouse, an AUGM scholarship for a short stay at the University of Edinburgh or the scholarship from AUIP, through which he completed the Master at UAH.
