d´Escragnolle Filho
Luiz Affonso d 'Escragnolle Filho. (November 22, 1924, Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - June 3, 2004, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Architect in 1948 from the National Faculty of Architecture, in Rio de Janeiro.
There are few references to his works. His best-known works seem to date from the late 1950s and the beginning of the following decade, coinciding with his participation in the Commission for Assistance to Educational Foundations (CAFE), and they seem to be mostly public schools in Brazil.
He represented his country in different international fairs and events, with proposals such as those of the Brazilian pavilions in: the V International Fair of Bogotá, Colombia (1964), and in the II National Agricultural Fair of Santarém, Portugal (1965).
Author of the Casa do Brasil in Madrid (1959-1962) with Fernando Moreno Barberá. He won some awards but his career seems almost invisible in the Brazilian architecture historiography of the 20th century.
