Architecture Acts

Architecture Acts is a multidisciplinary and award-winning platform for Art and Architecture based in Prague. Founded and directed by Hana Petrik and Martin Kropac, Architecture Acts is an open-ended dialogue and rigorous exploration of the field with international team of talented collaborators, current and past.

Both Hana and Martin have extensive experience working as architects in renowned architectural firms in Madrid, Los Angeles and New York.

Currently the office is working on multitude of projects ranging from exhibition design, residential and cultural projects, workshops, lectures to urban plans and large-scale developments.

Hana Petrik studied Design Theory at University of Liechtenstein in the studio of Xavier Calderon. She has been a visiting scholar at UDK Berlin in the studio of Weil Arets. Her architectural endeavors began at Czech Technical University in Prague and continued at Kansas State University. Hana has worked as an architect in Aspen, Los Angeles and New York.

Martin Kropac received his postgraduate degree in architecture at Columbia University in New York after studying architecture at Kansas State University and Czech Technical University in Prague. He has studied and worked in the studio of Alberto Campo Baeza in Madrid. He is the winner of the ABF Young Architect Award 2009 as well as several scholarships including a Columbia research grant to study modern Brazilian architecture of João Batista Vilanova Artigas. After graduation from GSAPP, Martin worked in New York at Steven Holl Architects and taught studio and various courses at the School of Architecture and Design NYIT. He is a licensed architect in the Czech Republic and a doctoral candidate at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
