Andrea Robbins and Max Becher (born in Boston in 1963 and Düsseldorf in 1964, respectively, in the present settled in New York) met in college in 1984 and got married some years later. Ever since, they have worked both individually and as a team in the fields of photography, video and digital media. Robbins and Becher have also given lectures in the arts departments of the Cooper Union, Rutgers University and Florida University.
Robbins & Becher work is focused in places which have been put out of their original contexts, and their causes and consequences. Therefore, their photographic series, accompanied by brief texts, offer visually revealing facts without entering in the field of journalism.
