The festival offers the opportunity to make an intervention in the heart of the city, establishing a dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture that activates the reflection of citizens on the spaces of the city.

Concéntrico 04 proposed three open competitions: one for the design and implementation of the Information Pavilion in the Escuelas Trevijano's square, another for the realization of an intervention in the Plaza de San Bartolomé, and finally, the design and implementation of an intervention in Viña Lanciano from Bodegas Lan.

Concéntrico 04, the International Architecture and Design Festival in Logroño (La Rioja / Spain), arose with the intention of prompting reflection on the city through proposals in architecture and design. The latest edition will be held from 27 April to 1 May 2018.

"La Plaza"- Lucas Seré Peltzer and Sebastián Andrés Podestá
Intervention design and creation competition in San Bartolomé's square, at Concéntrico 04

In San Bartolomé Plaza a simple intervention articulates the existing space and calls for contemplation, for reflection.  When removing the banks to the square, they appear two rest points at the ends, two concrete cubes connected by a mirror of water they synthesize the act of sitting and they bring it closer to its essence.

"The project has been selected by the symbolic and suggestive character of the architecture that it incorporates. A sheet of water that proposes to us to be, observe and connect with the space with a new order. A simple intervention articulates the existing space and calls for contemplation, for reflection of the beholder"

Intervention at the pavillion of the Escuelas Trevijano's square, at Concéntrico 04.

Through the revolution of some flat pieces, a dome with an interior volume different from the outside is genereted, to obtain a double volumetry. This radial geometry produces a game of lights and shadows on the floor of our pavilion that creates a space full of magic fostering the interaction of neighbors and visitors.

"The project has been selected for its iconic character and singular geometry, that responds to the use of the Pavilion as a milestone of the festival. From a radial geometry, they produce a  dome with an interior volume different from the outside to obtain a hypnotizing double volumetry. Its layout in floor, consisting of a game of circles, conquer the plaza covering the maximum space with four possible scenarios that allow different rhythms of uses according to the needs of the festival. "

"Entrever" de Fernando Cruzado, Julia Díaz, Francisco Javier Fernández y Ane Villaverde
Intervention at "Viña Lanciano, Bodegas LAN, at Concéntrico 04

A network of red lines will mark a vertical thickness, crowned by an ambiguous cloud which will rock with the wind. The lines marked by the vineyards surround us, creating a plant wall on both sides of the road, and generating a series of rows that will allow to see what is behind. That is why the ENTREVER intervention is also a path to experiment.

"The project has been selected for its inspiring and ethereal character, that's  incorporated and dialogues with the landscape. Its large scale is transformed with the process of time, allowing a variable travel between the vineyards in the days of the festival. "
