The Van Eyck invites artists, designers, photographers, architects, curators, writers, and thinkers to apply for a work period at the Jan van Eyck Academie for 4 up to 12 months. Participants are given the time and space that is needed to develop their talents, to discover as yet unexplored perspectives and delve into deeper layers of themselves.

The Jan van Eyck Academie is a post academic insitute open for artists, designers, photopraphers, architects, writers, thinkers and curators from all over the world.

- A work period at the Van Eyck varies between 4 up to 12 months. Start is in March 2015. By mutual agreement, a work period can commence at a later date.
- 35 up to 40 spots are available each year.
- Duo's or collectives can also apply for 1 place at the Van Eyck .
- If you previously have been a resident at another post academic institute (Rijksacademie, De Ateliers) in the Netherlands, you can not apply at the Van Eyck.
- The individual contribution for your stay at the Van Eyck amounts to €2,750 at a yearly basis. For stays that are shorter or longer than 12 months pro rata amounts apply.

Participants receive amongst others:

- a monthly stipend.
-  a work budget.
- advise by a group of advisors, consisting of experienced artists, designers, curators and art critics, who will make regular studio visits.
- advise by different guest advisors who will make studio visits.
- access to well-equipped Labs (wood and metal, print, photo and video and a library), run by experts in their discipline.

Participants are expected to:

- engage, next to their work in the studio, in In-Labs and external projects.
- to settle in Maastricht or direct surroundings during their stay at the academy.

Applying is done digitally. Apart from the online application form, the other required parts have to be sent in one PDF file to application@janvaneyck.nl. For voluminous files (like videos), please insert a link to the server/website/You Tube/Vimeo where the file can be viewed. Please make sure all the links to external sites work at least up to two months after the deadline has past. The registration fee is €65. The registration procedure is included in the online application. 

An application consists of:

1. the online application form
2. a PDF file containing the following parts:

a)  a clear table of contents.
b) a projectproposal stating goals and purpose of your stay (max. 500 words).
c) first  ideas concerning an In-Lab (max. 500 words).
d) documentation of recent work (dating back no longer than 5 years, max. 20 works).
e)  your resume (max. 2 pages).
