Pascal Flammer's work often presents a juxtaposition of different layers: system, concept and composition, allowing different readings of the same project. In this line of thought, it might happen that these architectural works oscillate between contradictory states, so that sometimes it might seem that the creative process lacks any kind of logic. This is made possible thanks to the architect's emphasis on viewing architecture as a framework that promotes a way of life, rather than a building itself.
Flammer won the Swiss Art Award in 2006 and the European award Philippe Rotthier in 2014. The conference is included in the series of Foros organized by the UIC and celebrates its eighteenth edition this year under the theme of "Origin".
