The Keret House is an ­art installation in the form of an insert between two existing buildings, representing different historical periods in Warsaw’s history.
Keret House is located on a plot ­measuring 92 centimeters in its narrowest point ­and 152 centimeters in its ­widest point.

The residential program is an inherent part of the project in by which a special commission headed by Etgar Keret will invite artists from around the world to visit Poland. Under the international residence program many artists’ lectures and conferences will take place. The participants of the program will have an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the capital, will take part in the creation of artworks dedicated to Warsaw. The international residence program taking place in the heart of Warsaw’s Wola district will ensure amazing working conditions for art creation and will certainly become a world intellectual exchange platform.

20 days in the heart of the Warsaw

 

The residence program will take place during the years 2012-2016. During this time two types of visits by artists of various fields will be realized: from literature, film to visual arts. The first will be of expert nature – and shall consist of short visits of the most genius artists together with lectures and presentations. The second type of visit will be the studio visit. In 20 days young artists, chosen in a competition will familiarize with Warsaw’s cultural and social life. This is a unique way if stimulating the cultural production of the capital and a chance of opening the city to new creative energy.

We do not always can to see ingenious architectural works, it is. Keret House is an ingenious project designed by Jakub Szczesny, of Centrala study, developed in a narrow void between the buildings on 22 Chłodna Street and 74 Żelazna Street in the district of Wola, Poland. Keret House has an interior that will vary between 122 centimeters and 72 centimeters. With a total area of 14,5 square meters, the new house will accommodate a workspace as well as a guest studio. The project was especially created for Isreali writer Etgar Keret who believes this type of interior will provide great work conditions.
