The international magazine "El Croquis" has dedicated its 189th issue to the architects José María Sánchez García, Alfredo Payá Benedito and Toni Gironés. 3 young architects whose architectural maturity has developed in a difficult moment for architecture.
The magazine focuses on the projects carried out by Alfredo Payá and José María Sánchez García between 2010 and 2017 and goes back a little more in time, to cover the work of Toni Gironés, whose work is summarized in the publication with proposals ranging from 2003 until 2017.

The 3 architects have run a parallel career and share certain common features, all of them Doctors Architects, they have developed their professional practice as architects with teaching:
 
José María Sánchez García is Associate Professor of Projects at the Architecture School of Madrid, Alfredo Payá Benedito, the oldest of the three architects, was professor, among other universities, at the ETSA in Valencia from 1990 to 2000, and from that date until 2006 in Alicante, Toni Gironés, the median as far as age is concerned, was professor in projects at the ETSA Vallés between 1993 and 2005 as well as professor at the School of Architecture of Reus, URV, between 2005 and 2017.

Inside the publication, in addition to a good number of fantastic projects we can find conversations with the three architects, led by Inmaculada Maluenda and Enrique Encabo, as well as a summary of his thought through texts written with his own pen.

Alfredo Payá was born in Alicante , spain, 19th march 1961. 1988 Architect by Technical superior school of architecture of Madrid, Spain. Estabished in Alicante since 1988. 1988-89. 1991-00 Projects teacher in the technical superior school of architecture of Valencia, Spain. Projects teacher in the technical superior school of architecture of Alicante, Spain. Guest teacher in several universities and habitual lecturer in different institutions.

His complete work has been reviewed in different publications and national and international exhibitions. At the beginning of 2006 Alfredo Payá founded the noname29 office, where he develops his work at  present. Nowadays projects lecturer at the Catalonia International University.

Toni Gironès, (Badalona, 1965) architect by "Escuela de Arquitectura del Vallés - ETSAV" (1992). Professor of projects at that School until 2005 and from then Teaching Responsible and professor/coordinator of the projects and drawing I-II (2005-11) subjects and of Projects and Urban planning II (2011-12) at "Escuela de Arquitectura de Reus - URV". Since 2009 he is member of the Direction Council and professor of BIARCH - Barcelona Institute of Architecture.

Jose María Sánchez García was born in Don Benito (Badajoz) in 1975. He is an architect from the School of Architecture of Madrid (2002) and associate professor of the same school.

In 2003 she received a scholarship from the Velazquez House and in 2007-2008 the Academy of Spain in Rome.

At the international level he has received awards like 1st prize of Architectural Review Emerging Architecture in 2009 (exhibition at the RIBA, London), was honored as one of 10 emerging international studies by Architectural Record's Design Vanguard 2009 in New York, X Prize finalist Contractworld 2010 Hannover and was selected VII for Latin American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism among others.

At national level he has been selected for XI Spanish Architecture Biennale, winning 1st prize in Young Architecture, Special Mention Award in the FAD 2010 Architecture and won 1st prize Nan V Awards of Architecture and Construction 2011 among others.

He has participated in national and international conferences and lectures in Barcelona Open Biarch in Lusiada University of Porto, in Izmir (Turkey), in Schools Architecture of Malaga, Sevilla, Zaragoza, Madrid, Segovia and at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome.

He has also served as CISMEF09 international exhibition in Guangzhou, China, New York and Paris with exposure JAE Young Architects of Spain in Santiago Chile, Quito, Puerto Rico, Bogotá, Oran and Peru with 100% exposure Madrid at the RIBA in London, Athens and Moscow with the exhibition "Una ciudad llamada España" and with that of "35 + Exposición de Arquitectura Española" in Athens and Cyprus.
