The Spanish architecture studio BEAR completes its (Dis)ordered project, a house located in Las Arenas, a neighborhood in the municipality of Guecho, in the Basque province of Vizcaya. Its location near a suspension bridge and the mouth of an estuary allows the house an opportunity for liberation.

The purpose of this house is to achieve a space where the inhabitants can work, rest and above all share it. It becomes a home that captures well the personality of those who live there, with a large space where vinyl, objects and clothes accumulate, becoming an extension of their tastes and hobbies.
BEAR creates a balance between sobriety, cheap materials with sophisticated design and detail. They use materials such as Portuguese cork and industrialized boards, achieving unique solutions for the architecture of the home.

The house is projected from two shelves that invite you to know the worlds that the house hides, inside are the bathrooms and the gym dressing room. The kitchen stands as the other important part of the house with a large polygonal island that helps users share time with others.

Description of project by BEAR

Located next to the Suspension Bridge and open to the mouth of the estuary, a house crouching awaits an opportunity to free itself and get rid of a distribution that oppresses it, designed for that life, hopefully already forgotten, of serving and being served. His new accomplices, a young couple, want to rediscover it to enjoy it intensely, work on it, rest and above all share it.

They also have the celebrated collector virus accumulating vinyls, objects and clothes that become a material extension of his tastes, hobbies and travel company. With this premise, the house is emptied and structured around two large shelves that fold and detach from the geometric guidelines given by the perimeter of the house, introducing a certain alteration or disorder that invites you to go through them, turn them around and delve into that world contained in them. Inside this new pattern are hidden the bathrooms and the gym dressing room and on the outside a Strip of objects and music that is the continued protagonist of the house that accompanies and allows specializing the rooms, as this container is used that could otherwise be used. serve for one thing or another only conditioned by its position or size.

The kitchen stands as the other note of the house and it is not if not a translation of the cooking of its users: a chat with other friends, a day-to-day celebration that takes shape as that top of the large shelf with a large island polygonal of Brazilian granite that embraces the pillar and leans weightlessly on mirrored doors. A kitchen to cook looking at the views, with friends and for friends.

The materials are another element that emphasizes the project, handling that careful tension between its material condition, sober, cheap or rough, and its placement, design and sophisticated detail: flooring based on Portuguese cork bands and radiata pine battens that emphasize directionality. of the Strip or furniture based on industrialized boards with singular solutions: curved, large doors hidden in shelves q, a mobile cart for the music equipment and being able to play in different areas or colors or finishes that personalize it and impregnate that air of enjoyment that Finally it is what was sought.
