The photographer Manuel Álvarez Diestro, has made a series of photographs titled "Architecture of Density" in Dubai, as a tribute to the series of hyperdensity of Hong Kong by the recently deceased Michael Wolf. We speak of an image that reflects a golden vision, almost a mirage in the desert, in a place that oscillates between the inhuman by the size of the buildings and the monolithic repetition of the residential housing complexes of the city, and the details of those structures.
As a posthumous tribute to the recently deceased Michael Wolf, author of "Architecture of Density," the photographic series by Manuel Álvarez Diestro reflects the tonalities of the desert "of this great mirage built in the middle of nowhere".

The German photographer Michael Wolf, recently died at 64 years of age. His best-known work, "Architecture of Density", shows one of the most populated metropolitan areas in the world, Hong Kong, with approximately 6,700 people per square kilometer. Wolf showed us the blocks of high-rise buildings as geometric abstractions of light and color.

The images of Michael Wolf show us how contemporary cities are trapped in a global capitalism, as Richard Sennett would say.

As a tribute to this early death of Michael Wolf, the Spanish photographer Manuel Álvarez makes a new photographic work about the work of "Architecture of Density". Through his images, he explores the skyscrapers of the city of Dubai and the urban landscape accentuated by a golden monochromatic tonality, making reference to the Arabian desert. The photographer uses this chromatic range to give the buildings the tranquility provided by the desert lands in a hyperpopulated city.
