Shang Interior Architects is an architectural studio founded in 2023 by Gu Xihan and Lu Yingfu, based in Shanghai. The studio is committed to the innovative practice of interior architecture design and has been involved in various sectors including retail, catering, residential and real estate. At the same time, they focus and engage in real estate development, hotel investment and innovative entrepreneurship, striving to achieve an organic integration of design and business in multiple dimensions.
Shang Interior Architects is co-led by Gu Xihan and Lu Yingfu, who graduated in Interior Design from Pratt Institute in New York and have gained practical experience in well-known design firms both domestically and internationally.
They are interior-driven, inclusive, and always maintain a strong curiosity about design, exploring and perceiving the world with a powerful inner drive. Their design emphasizes the transcendence of the materiality of space, including the use of light, color, and materials, to create a poetic existence that combines sensory experience with physical essence. The founding team also brings industrial design expertise and a top-level business MBA background, enabling space design solutions to achieve unity and integrity, aligning business models, brand strategies, marketing tactics, lifestyle, material expressions, and spatial details.
