Marqués Vilaplana
Paco Marqués graduated as an architect from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Sevilla in 2001. After a period working as a collaborator in several studios, he joined forces with María Cayuela, founding Cayuela Marqués arquitectos in 2004, and established his own office in 2007.
His work is characterized by an attentive approach to the place, as well as the search for a certain balance between familiarity and strangeness, continuity and singularity. Of the works built, it is worth mentioning the House in Beas, winner of the COAH Architecture Award in its XII edition; the House in Valdegrosa, special mention in the XIX edition; and the Sports Pavilion in Isla de la Cartuja, selected by the architecture guide Sevilla Contemporánea: Arquitectura 2000-2010.
Together with architect Luis Rubio, he recently won the competition for the renovation and expansion of the La Rábida Institute in Huelva, and the competition for the renovation of the old market on Paseo Santa Fe, also in Huelva. Since 2016 he has regularly collaborated with Luis Rubio Marín and Rosalino Daza.
