Juarranz
Estudio Juarranz is an architectural office founded in 2012 and is currently based in Madrid and Soria. Its work connects creativity, technique, innovation and efficiency to shape collective and individual wishes. The office combines projects of various types and scales, from housing blocks or urban planning to furniture or exhibition design. These works include different design and construction processes that enrich the multiple activities of the studio.
The office has received national and international recognitions, such as the COAM Award (Official College of Architects of Madrid); COACYL Award (COA Castilla y León); Panorama of Works of the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism; First Works Bauwelt Award; First Prize Municipal Housing Company, Madrid; Europan Prize; Finalist ASCER Award; PFC COAM Award (COA Madrid), among others. The projects have been published in journals such as Arquitectura Viva, AV Proyectos, Arquitectura (COA Madrid), CSCAE (Superior Council of the College of Architects of Spain) or Bauwelt.
Angela Juarranz is an architect (ETSAM, 2012) with, a Master's Degree in Advanced Architectural Projects (ETSAM, 2013) and holds a PhD in Architecture with International Mention (UPM, 2019). Angela Juarranz combines professional projects with academic, research and editorial activities. Her research has been awarded the Research Grant in New York (Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and Arquia Foundation) and the FPU Grant (Ministry of Education of Spain), among others.
Since 2012, she teaches Design Studio (Degree and Master) at ETSAM and is a guest lecturer at national and international universities: University of Columbia, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Master in Advanced Architectural Projects (UPM), Master in Architectural Communication (UPM), ESET Technical School of Engineering (CEU), School of Architecture & Design (IE University) or Design School of the IED (European Design Institute).
