Hollein
Hans Hollein (Vienna, 1934 - 2014) was an Austrian architect and designer who was awarded the Pritzker Prize for architecture in 1985.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He later expanded his studies and received his Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in 1960.
Among his most recognized works are the Museum of Modern Art, Frankfurt and the Glass and Ceramics Museum in Tehran; Remodeling of the Albertina Museum, Vienna; Hilton Hotel, Vienna; Lower Austrian Landesmuseum, Sankt Polten; Austrian Embassy, Berlin; Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt, Frankfurt; Feigen Gallery, New York, the Donaucity School, Vienna or the Pezet 515 and Interbank Towers, Lima.
His professional career was marked by his time as a teacher, when he was a professor in the United States from 1963 to 1966. Later, from 1967 to 1976, he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf. From 1976, he was a professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and since 2002 he has held the position of professor emeritus.
