Annette Gigon was born in Herisau, Switzerland in 1959. Graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and since 1989 joined the architectural practice with Mike Guyer. Visiting professor at EPFL Lausanne and ETH Zurich in 2002 and 2008 respectively. Since 2012 she has been a professor of Architecture and Technology at ETH Zurich.
