Cruz García
Óscar Cruz García is an architect from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM) since 2019 and a technical architect from the University School of Technical Architecture of Madrid (EUATM) since 2013, Master in Advanced Architectural Projects MPAA14 (2023). He established cruz.atelier in 2019, a small architecture collective dedicated to the simultaneous development of architectural practice, dissemination and research.
Since 2019 he has been an architect at the Jesús Aparicio Architecture Studio, where he is part of the team in charge of the Rehabilitation and Extension of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, and has collaborated in the studios of Héctor Fernández Elorza and Federico Soriano in Madrid, in addition to doing independent work. He has also served as a mentor teacher at ETSAM in the Architectural Projects department.
Among his most recent recognitions, he has been a finalist in the competition for the curatorship of the XVI BEAU; First runner-up in the competition to curate the Spanish Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale; Special Mention in the latest edition of Europan E16; Special Mention in the Competition for the “Minus 35 COAM Curatorship”, awarded at the XV BEAU Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism; Second Prize COAM 2020; Finalist in the IV edition of the “Microespacios Santander” Ideas Contest; Special Mention COAM Award 2019; Second Prize in the Competition for the Renovation of the M-30 Funeral Home and awarded by ASCER in the 18th edition of the Ceramic Awards with First Prize.
